Guided tour of the Gamba Castle<\/h2>\n

Gamba Castle <\/strong>was built at the beginning of 20th century by Baron Carlo Maurizio Gamba to allow his beloved bride Ang\u00e9lique d’Entr\u00e8ves, daughter of Count Christin d\u2018Entr\u00e8ves, to spend long periods of the year close to her family. The architect Saroldi, who was entrusted with the work, realized a residence surrounded by a beautiful park and equipped with all kinds of comforts, such as a lift.<\/p>\n

After the death of their daughter Irene, Angelique dies at the age of 37 years old but only after the death of Carlo Maurizio the castle belonged to the Passerin d\u2019Entr\u00e8ves\u2019s family. Since 1982 the castle belongs the Regional Council of Aosta Valley.
\nAfter careful restoration the castle now holds the Region\u2019s collection of modern and contemporary art<\/strong> and exhibits today 150 works of arts (paintings and sculptures) located in the 13 rooms of the residence.<\/p>\n

The Regional Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art<\/strong><\/a>, belonging to the Regional Council, exhibits the works of major painters of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Casorati, Carr\u00e0, Guttuso, Gi\u00f2 Pomodoro, Martini, Manz\u00f9\u2026<\/p>\n

The English park<\/strong> surrounding the castle covers over 50.000 square meters and is home to monumental trees<\/strong>: a giant Sequoia, the Bald cypress and the Honey Locust.<\/p>\n
