Here you can enjoy a traditional architecture made by typical wooden stadel and hear speaking Germanic dialects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gressoney-Saint-Jean<\/strong> is situated in a particularly interesting area due to its view of impressive mountain massif and the Lyskamm glacier. In the center of the village there is the picturesque <strong>Lake Gover<\/strong> whose waters are a beautiful emerald green and reflect the surrounding, majestic summits.<\/p>\n<p>It has a characteristic historic center and the houses are grouped together around the <strong>Saint John the Baptist parish Church<\/strong> built in 1725 on a previous building dating from 1515.<\/p>\n<h2>Savoy Castle and Queen Margherita<\/h2>\n<p>This wonderful area was beloved also by Queen Margherita of Savoy, who built in Gressoney her summer residence, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidaturisticaosta.it\/en\/visite\/savoy-castle-in-gressoney-saint-jean\/\">Savoy Castle<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe castle, designed by architect Emilio Stramucci in neogothic style has a fairy appearance and overlooks the Mount Rosa glacier.<br \/>\nThe castle is also surrounded by a beautiful park with a <strong>botanic garden<\/strong> hosting alpine flora.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Queens Margherita of Savoy&#8217;s interest the village knew a golden period, and today has become one of the most appreciated vacation resorts in the Alps.<\/p>\n<h2>Gressoney-La-Trinit\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Gressoney-La-Trinit\u00e9<\/strong>, is the last village at the head of the Gressoney Valley. It is situated at an altitude of 1627 meters in a vast flatland dominated by the Lyskamm glacier of the impressive <strong>Monte Rosa massif<\/strong>. The village is famous for winter sports, since it belongs to the <strong>Monterosa Ski<\/strong> area which is one of the largest in the Alps.<\/p>\n<p>The village has also an interesting <strong>Walser Museum<\/strong> that leads its guests on a <strong>journey to discover the Walser culture<\/strong>. Through the visit of two buildings: an old rural house from the 18th century and the house-museum with permanent exhibitions, the visitors can breathe the authentic atmosphere of a Walser home.
