Chamois<\/strong> is placed in Valtournenche at 1800 m of altitude and is the highest village of Aosta Valley<\/strong>! Chamois is a true alpine village with wood and stone building and tiny streets.<\/p>\n Worth a visit also the Saint Pantal\u00e9on parish church<\/strong>, originally built in 1681, it was enlarged and transformed in 1838, when it assumed the actual structure. To see the carved, painted and partly gilded wood main altar from the 18th century and the big canvas of the Immaculate Conception.<\/p>\n This particular village has been inserted among the Pearls of the Alps<\/strong> and its particularity is that here cars can\u2019t be run: a quiet place suitable for families, couples and all those willing to live according to the rhythms of an authentic environment.<\/p>\n Another interesting area from a naturalistic point of view is Lod Lake<\/strong>, which is accessible either by chairlift or after a 40-minute walk.<\/p>\n You can also reach Chamois on foot along the old mule track that still links the village with the Valtournenche or even starting from the municipality of La Magdeleine<\/strong>, along a path that can be tackled on foot or by mountain bike.<\/p>\n One peculiarity of Chamois is the presence of a small mountain airport, the first in Italy, built in 1967.<\/p>\n
