Visit of the medieval villlage of Donnas
Medieval village of Donnas is situated along the Roman Road to Gaul and during Middle Ages became a vibrant village of the Francigena road attended by traders and pilgrims.
Walking along the ancient village, as some famous personalities as Napoleon Bonaparte or the Count Camillo Benso di Cavour did, we will meet fortified houses, medieval hospices, a chapel and elegant buildings. The old district, with its 16th century windows buildings and frescoes, preserves an atmosphere full of charm. The main street through the town is today accessed by crossing an ancient, medieval gateway.
Don’t miss the Sant’Orso Fair, a traditional wood fair which takes place on the second last Sunday in January which is held along the main street in the medieval district.
