About the Food and Wine Tour
A food and wine tour set in a unique landscape, among vineyards and apple orchards just a few steps from Aosta.
The tour includes a visit to the Sarre Royal Castle, the 19th-century residence of King Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy during his hunting trips in the Gran Paradiso Valleys. Inside, the gallery and the Trophy Hall bear witness to the history of hunting art in the Aosta Valley and to the creation of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
The experience continues with a rich tasting of wines from this extraordinary territory, accompanied by a walk through the vineyards. The morainic slopes of the Aymavilles area are particularly well suited to vine cultivation; in fact, several native grape varieties grow here, such as Petit Rouge, which finds its finest expressions precisely in the Aymavilles basin.
The food and wine trail concludes among the apple orchards with a visit to a local farm and a tasting of their products.
