Ascent to the Stella di Pila

The Stella di Pila is an outstanding panoramic viewpoint at an altitude of 2723 metres, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a truly unique mountain landscape.

Perched on a ridge at the centre of a natural amphitheatre, the Stella di Pila resembles a giant compass rose with panoramic terraces, providing breathtaking views of some of the Alps’ most iconic peaks, including Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc, Grand Combin, and the Matterhorn.

It can be reached in just 30 minutes from the centre of Aosta thanks to the new Aosta–Pila–Couis cable car system.

Inside the Stella, the Panoramic Bistrot offers high-quality cuisine celebrating the finest products of the Aosta Valley, reinterpreted with a contemporary touch. Outside, guests can relax on its sunny panoramic terraces while enjoying the spectacular surroundings.

Pila

Pila is a mountain resort located at 1800 metres above sea level, overlooking the city of Aosta and offering stunning views of the surrounding Alpine ranges.

The resort was developed during the 1970s, following the principles of an urban planning project inspired by the new French mountain resorts of the time.

The architecture has been carefully designed to blend harmoniously with the natural landscape. The buildings follow the contours of the terrain, and their colours reflect the surrounding environment. The hotels rise naturally from the mountainside, while most private residences are built in cascading semi-underground terraces, each enjoying magnificent views towards Mont Blanc.
